WHAT IS ABORTION?

There are many definitions of abortion. When we refer to abortion, we mean the intentional killing of a living, innocent human being.

Why We See Abortion As a Human Rights Violation...

Where have we seen discrimination in the past?

Race/Ethnicity: From the 16th to the 19th century, Africans and African Americans were unjustly viewed as inferior solely because of one external factor—the color of their skin. Today, we understand that no one should be discriminated against based on race or ethnicity. Human rights are not dependent on the color of one's skin.

Gender: From the mid-19th to the 20th century, women fought tirelessly for the full right to vote. During this time, women were seen as less then due to their biological sex. Today, we recognize that no one should be discriminated against or belittled for being a woman. Human rights are not determined by gender.

SO WHERE MIGHT WE SEE DISCRIMINATION NOW?

Now, pre-born children are being discriminated against based solely on their age and level of development. Abortion tears these pre-born babies' limbs off one by one or chemically depriving them of oxygen and essential nutrients until they die of starvation. Even late term abortions-which do occur-are injecting the fetal heart and inducing a painful death for the unborn child.

Human rights should not be dependent on age or level of development.

We believe that being human is enough to receive basic human rights, which includes the right to life.
